Families Moving Forward

The Families Moving Forward (FMF) Program helps children with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder (FASD), their families, and the professionals who care for them. It is a positive parenting program designed for children with FASD from ages 3 to 12 years old.

Get the Support You Need

Family Moving Forward provides caregivers of children with FASD with individualized support. Families will meet with a FMF specialist over the course of 14 to 22 sessions. During these sessions they will:

  • Help you better understand your children’s behavior and develop new skills and strategies that are best suited to help your child function better
  • Identify and connect you with helpful community resources and services
  • Consulate with your child’s school team and other professionals working with the child

Locations

The FMF Program is currently available to families in the Rochester and Buffalo regions.

Families in Rochester receive services at Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics at 200 East River Road and families in Buffalo receive services in their home or community location.

Proven Success

The FMF Program has been evaluated as part of three clinical research studies, with positive improvements for children and families. A new study is underway that families can join that is evaluating the FMF Program in community settings.
